Style Model - Front Cover |
My front cover's main image will be black and white as a reference to the Ramones as they are also going to be stood up against a brick wall, it could also be seen as a throwback in time as black and white photos aren't really used now-a-days in magazines but would have been in early releases a few decades ago. It will also make the text stand out as the colours are going to be contrasting against each other. The colours I used are two shades of red and yellow, connoting danger or caution which adds to the main image, the stance of the people in the image being imposing and unwelcoming. However, the colours are also bright and clashing which catches attention as it stands out boldly. This adds to the magazines over all image as the masthead is 'Punks' which has dangerous connotations on its own as punks are a group of people rooted in the want of anarchy and destruction through revolution. The tagline is also very off putting, as it goes against the usual conventions as it's a subtle continuation of the masthead by saying that 'Punks don't care' it also goes against conventions by being off putting instead of promoting the magazine. It also adds to the image of the magazine by giving the magazine a 'don't care' attitude which isn't something that usual happens as most magazines tend to look enticing to gain their audience.
